EXPERIENCE  HOLY WEEK 2015 AT HILLCREST

Good Friday April 3
Easter Sunday April 5

Why?
It’s a time to reflect, reconnect and rejoice.
They call it Holy Week for a reason: these days memorialize sacred events and what they memorialize makes every day sacred.

 Who?

You.  That is, God’s children of every age.  All are welcome.

Childcare will be available for infants and toddlers;
services and activities are planned with children and youth in mind.

 What, Where, When?

March 29  PALM SUNDAY  Education Hour and Worship Service
                      Palm Sunday marks Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem

 9:30  a.m.   Children’s activities on upper campus, and
 Adult Bible Study in Fellowship Hall.

10:30 a.m.  Worship with palms, music and a message of hope.

April 3  GOOD FRIDAY Family Celebration, Journey to the Cross, and  Tenebrae Service 
                Good Friday is named for what Jesus, with God, accomplished on this day

6:00  p.m.   Family Celebration includes a light supper and holy communion
 as we recall the last supper & Jesus’ command to love one another.
We meet in the Fellowship Hall.

6:45 p.m.    Journey to the Cross includes brief readings and prayers as we 
make our way from the Fellowship Hall to the Sanctuary.

7:00  p.m.   Tenebrae Worship includes special choir music, dramatic readings, and 
hymns. We exit the sanctuary in darkness and stand by as the rock is 
rolled in front of the door.

 April 5  EASTER SUNDAY Festival Worship and Reception

                “I am the resurrection and the life”:  We celebrate life and new life in Christ

 10:30 a.m.   Combined Worship service with the Korean Methodist Church includes celebratory hymns and special music with organ and other instruments, Easter readings, prayers, Easter reflections, and holy communion.

11:45 a.m.   Easter Reception hosted by the Korean Methodist Church
