Ray’s Postlude-Prelude
Every worship has a Prelude and a Postlude.
We typically ignore them, but they’re precious. They help us warm-up to the possibility of revelation, and allow time to assess whether God was in what we just heard.
Some of Western Civilization’s greatest music is labeled “Prelude” or “Postlude.”
My frustration with “Ray’s Well” is I have more to share (write) than time/space to write it. Hillcrest News is only once a month; my brainstorms are more frequent. I like to think folks read it (!), like it enough to look for the next one. My frustration: only one per month!
So get ready for “Ray’s Postlude“:
- What I forgot to say,
- What I thought of later,
- What should be corrected,
- What I wish I had said.
But that’s not all! Get ready for “Rays Prelude,” too:
- A quote or proverb that took me on a trip….. Does it grab you too?
- A strange (humorous) happening.
- A text or idea that’s cooking in my “oven”, (The meaning of Alzheimer’s?)
- A coincidence which seems to be telling me something.
- (Check this definition: “Coincidence is when God chooses to be anonymous.”)
Here’s the catch: Ray’s Prelude and Postlude are on Hillcrest’s website (Just look at “Harvesting a Lifetime” on the right sidebar.) Here’s the url link: https://hillcrestucc.org/. It’s also my tool to reach folks who aren’t at Hillcrest or involved in “harvesting” yet. Also, friends and colleagues who ask what I’m thinking/preaching about.
Crazy? Am I dreaming? We’ll see!
Ray
