Volunteers Needed for White Pony Express Food Sorting

Hillcrest Church, in partnership with Temple Isaiah, will be joining together for an ICARE project of the Interfaith Council of Contra Costa County to support White Pony Express’s efforts to collect food donations from grocery stores and distribute the food to food banks and communities in need.

Beginning Sunday, February 4th, five or more volunteers are needed to help sort donated food for 2 hours every other month so it can go out to the community where it is needed. Teens are welcome! Dates: February 4; April 7; June 2; August 4; October 6; December 1. Time: 1;00 -3:00 p.m. Location: 3380 Vincent Road, #107, Pleasant Hill (Vincent Road is located near the Concord Feed and Pet Supply store on Hookston Road, Pleasant Hill)

White Pony Express asks that we park on the street and wear closed-toed shoes.

Hillcrest Church Food Pantry is a frequent recipient of White Pony Express donations so by volunteering for this project you are also helping support our Food Pantry.

Contact Carolyn Mac Kenzie at cmack3140@gmail.com if you can volunteer or if you would like more information.
