Reflecting the Sacred: Advent-Christmas Season Calendar

The word “sacred” points to something dedicated as “holy” and “set apart.” This year, you are invited to a spiritual journey of seeing ALL things pregnant with the Holy. What would our journey of preparation for Christmas be like if we lived it imagining that everything is reflecting the sacred?

The Longest Night: December 21
The Christmas season can be difficult for those struggling with loss, hard times, or just the pressures of the season. This year Hillcrest offers two opportunities to attend a worship that honors these feelings:

  • December 21, 2:00 p,m. Winter Solstice Service of Hope, Hillcrest Sanctuary
  • December 21, 7:00 p.m. Longest Night service with Pastor Kim at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Concord

Pastor Kim will help lead the Longest Night service at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 3039 Willow Pass, Concord. Hillcrest is invited!!

Carpool: All are invited to meet in the Hillcrest parking lot at 6:00p.m. to carpool or caravan to this service..

Christmas Eve Service: December 24—Baby Shower for Mary

  • December 24, 5:00p.m.—in the Sanctuary
  • All are invited to bring infant clothing to the service as an offering to the Baby Jesus.
  • Clothing and Monetary Gifts go to the Hillcrest Layette Program
