Thanks to generous Hillcrest members, friends and community partners, our Food, Clothing and Layette programs continue our 55 year+ mission of feeding and clothing those in need in our community.
We want to thank Lamorinda Presbyterian Church’s “Chicks with Sticks” who held their hugely successful Mother’s Day baby shower. We are so fortunate to be the recipients of their generous gifts, as well as for the many wonderful people are willing and able to help provide items for the layettes. We know they share in the care and joy that is given to the approximately 25 new mothers in need each month.
The Food Room continues to serve record numbers of individuals and households each month. In April, 540 individuals and 169 households received a 3 day supply of food. Thank you to all who so generously donate to Food Room Sunday and throughout the year. Food Room relies solely on donations to purchase the food we give to visitors. Thank you to members, friends and neighbors who donate their garden surplus. We are all in this together. It truly takes a village.
Our Clothing Room, which provide free clothing to all in need, also relies on donations of new or gently used clothing, linens and other accessories as available. Fore more information on our current needs, please contact the Church Office at 925-689-8260.
