Faith & Food for Families


Feeding homeless families housed at the Winter Nights family shelter has been a fulfilling community outreach service for Hillcrest Church members for many years. This year, due to Covid-19 restrictions, we are not able to prepare and serve the meals ourselves. Rather, our commitment is to provide food for breakfast, lunch and snacks, and to purchase and deliver prepared or catered meals for dinner.


This has been a difficult year for everyone, particularly for families who find themselves living in a shelter with their children.  Providing a favorite meal or a special treat for an occasion, like a child’s birthday, can make life feel a bit more normal.  

The daily cost to serve three meals and snacks for 20 people is approximately $225.00. Your donation will help ensure the families receive healthy, tasty meals and snacks for our assigned week of April 26th -May 1st.  Any remaining funds will be used to purchase arts & crafts items or special incentive gifts for children who have reached a reading goal or who completed weekly homework assignments.
