In anticipation of the birth of baby Jesus and all the new precious new babies, the Hillcrest Layette outreach program is providing an opportunity to help clothe new babies born to mother’s in need. The layettes are distributed by Contra Costa County Health Department to the new mothers.
Tags on the Giving Tree in Fellowship Hall designate a baby item to purchase. Please select a tag and donate the requested item. If you are unable to select a gift tag or shop, a monetary donation will be much appreciated as the Layette volunteer team purchases needed items throughout the year.
A layette typically contains clothing and accessories specifically designed for newborns such as hats, socks, receiving blankets and sleepwear. Hillcrest’s layettes contain additional items such as clothing for babies 0 -18 months, blankets, bibs, a hooded towel, diapers and wipes, a new book, a handmade quilt and afghan–lovingly made by volunteers, and a new stuffed animal.
